You might’ve noticed a minor update on my Substack—premium subscriptions are now available! I wanted to take a moment to explain what that’s all about and reassure you about a few things.

As someone who’s spent decades making a living in the games industry, I know the value of a good freemium model. I firmly believe in keeping all my content free for everyone to access, and that’s not changing. There are no paywalls, and no exclusives hide behind a subscription. I plan to use the proceeds to build a podcast studio and cover my growing content creation software licensing bill.

So why the premium option? It’s simple: if you choose to support me this way, you’re not just helping me. You’re helping the next wave of game producers. Every post, course, or resource I create is about sharing knowledge and making this industry better for the people coming up in it.

The rates on Substack are currently the lowest you can offer: $5 per month and $40 annually. However, if you are inclined to give more, we have a “Founder” level subscription that allows you to do so.
